Introduction
Construction is one of the biggest and most environmentally impactful industry in the world. Leading to the creation of more regulations and legislations to reduce the carbon footprint in the construction industry. This is real today in Chile, thanks to the discussion for the National Strategy of Carbon Footprint in the Construction Industry and the demands of the Ministry of Public Works who considers the carbon footprint within their calls for tenders.
Business and clients are demanding more sustainable and low environmental impact buildings, so understanding and taking action in the design and construction of low carbon buildings boosts market competitiveness.
The course Managing and Measuring the Carbon Footprint in Constructions will teach you how to use the Carbon footprint to make decisions in the design, construction and management of low carbon buildings, which will bring benefits to the environment and a great competitive advantage for you and your business.
Benefits:
In this course, you'll learn how:
- Comply with the new regulations: Avoid possible fines or sanctions and win business advantage.
- Save costs: Sustainable buildings can help reduce long term costs in terms of energy, construction and maintenance of a building.
- Gain skills that are in high demand: Acquire the essential skills to guarantee a working future within the growing market of sustainable buildings.
- Contribute to the environment: Help reduce greenhouse gases emissions and contribute to the fight against climate change.
Who is this course for?
Architects, civil or construction engineers, construction project managers and anyone who wish to gain competitive advantage in designing and constructing low carbon buildings and facilities.

Sessions recordings
All classes will be recorded and available to watch later on; however, the course is thought to be efficient and most of the work will be done during the classes with little activities outside the sessions, therefore assistance is vital. If you miss a class (accidents or emergencies can happen, we understand) you must check on the recording before the following class..
Homework
After each session, we'll send you a short quiz, of about 5 questions, to assess what you learned during class. We'll also ask for brief feedback on the session. This information will allow us to adjust the following classes in order to enhance them and adjust appropriately to the learning styles of the participants.
Certification Requirements
Upon completing the course, we'll issue you a certificate for your participation.
The requirements to obtain the certificate are:
