Between January and March 2020, we conducted a consultancy for the Institute of Construction focused on creating a report of the State-of-the-art of the Carbon Footprint in Construction, both nationally and internationally.

The study was subdivided into three topics: first, Carbon Footprint Methodologies about how to measure the carbon footprint; secondly, Measuring, Reporting and Verification systems, these systems help calculate reliably the carbon footprint as well as having a clear system of communicating and handling information so that various users have access to these carbon footprint results; third, a report about Carbon Footprint Calculators, the tools, applications and software that help measure the carbon footprint of a building.

The last report entailed a summary about the three topics aimed to decision makers, we suggest reading this one first as it is an abridged version consisting of 20 pages and summarizes the main topics as to orientate the management and the decision-making for the diverse parties involved.

(Suggested) Summary for decision makers
